Live video of this highly popular Taos Ski Valley event began on the second day of competition, Friday, March 7, 2008, at 9 AM and followed the action in the ski area's West Basin throughout the day.

at 9 AM Saturday, March 8, for the final day of the event as freeride skiers displayed their nerve and skills as they navigated the super steep slopes of the 12,481 foot Kachina Peak.

Skiers can faintly be seen walking up ridge (right) to reach the peak
and the point they've chosen to descend for the competition.
The field of competitors (approximately 100) who began the event was trimmed by fifty-percent following the qualifying runs on Thursday.
By Saturday, the field had been narrowed to the best 35 skiers (20 men, 5 women, and 10 juniors).
